Chapter of the Year for 2010!
The National Association of Healthcare Recruiters recognizes a chapter at their Annual Conference that has exhibited the highest degree of dedication and support toward the healthcare recruitment profession. The awarded chapter must excel in areas such as Membership Development, Chapter Programs, Communication, Recruitment and Healthcare Advocacy. The following is a brief overview of the criteria and achievements which resulted in the North Carolina Association of Healthcare Recruiters achieving the Chapter Achievement Award for 2010!
NAHCR Chapter Achievement Qualifications
Membership
The North Carolina chapter increased in membership by 20 active members and 4 new institutional members resulting in an overall increase of nearly 23% in 2009! The increase in chapter
size is mutually beneficial to both the chapter and the members and has strengthened our dedication and positive impact on the healthcare recruitment profession and the healthcare facilities
that we represent, individually and for the entire state of North Carolina!
Chapter Programs
The North Carolina chapter schedules speakers and planned programs for each meeting, resulting in continuing education credits from NAHCR and SHRM. Meetings also address “Hot
Topics” where members share and address issues that affect them and their recruitment efforts in order to discuss best practices and promote camaraderie!
Communication
Effectively sharing thoughts, ideas and information is a key element to successful recruitment efforts and the North Carolina chapter greatly excelled in this area in the past year. We
revised and passed our Bylaws, reformed committees, improved our website, updated our membership listing and continued to maintain solid finances. Our Recruitment Committee distributed
a calendar of state and national recruitment events and our website communicates all member information, meeting dates/locations, an overview of our chapter and education and scholarship
information.
Recruitment
The North Carolina chapter meets quarterly and holds an annual meeting, all of which provide members with Continuing Education Credits, address industry issues and trends and provides
endless networking opportunities to share best practices and make the very most of our time and effort toward our profession!
Healthcare Careers Advocacy
North Carolina chapter activities that have effectively promoted healthcare careers in the past year include:
- Scholarships to full-time students enrolled in accredited ADN, BSN or Allied Health Programs
- Attendance at the NAHCR Annual Conference, SHRM meetings and our own quarterly/annual meetings
- Consistent growth and support of chapter membership, educational programs and CHCR certification
- Promotion of special projects like Girls on the Run, Open Door Ministries, Cards for Troops and a Toy Drive
